Ready and Waiting

Three days to D-Day (departure day)! But for laundry and actually loading the moving truck, I think I'm ready: the route is planned, reservations made, errands completed, family and friends visited, apartment secured. I continue to be very excited! I'm looking forward to the trip across the country with my mom and sister (and cats). We've planned a good route that will take us past many great landmarks (stay tuned), and will arrive in Missoula after six days on the road. Start looking for trip posts on Tuesday, July 28!

  1. And it is now the eve of your departure and the start of a new chapter! Woo-hoo!! I need to commemorate with song...

    “Leavin’ with a Big Truck”
    (apologies to John Denver)

The car and truck are packed
    You’re ready to go
Your mom and sis are at the door
You’re ready to leave but it’s not goodbye
    You’re all driving as one
    Up to the Pike
    The NY Thruway
    And all those tolls
    Buffalo, South Bend, Dakotas
    Here you come!

So, think of us and smile that smile
That tells us all how happy you’ll be
And smart and lucky to be movin’ on
‘Cause you’re leaving with a big truck
Cats, crate and car along with you
    Montana awaits!

  2. Thanks GeoGuppy! I posted a reply days ago, but apparently didn't hit the "post" button twice. Anyway, I can always count on you to have an original song (or lyrics) for a momentous occasion!
